The Mark Bostock Memorial Trophy 2024 Golf Tournament took place at the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) course in Rajawella with top class golfer Sanjeewa Wickramanayake winning the overall trophy.
This year’s edition saw some impressive performances, with Sanjeewa Wickramanayake emerging as the overall winner of the Mark Bostock Memorial Trophy. Nirwan Hettiarachchi was the runner up in this event.
In the Ladies’ segment, Ahalya Rajan claimed the Tony Whitham Challenge trophy for the overall gross event while Melanie Bond was the runner up. Ahalya was the defending Mark Bostock Memorial Trophy winner which she won in 2023.
On the Gents’ side, youngster Yannik Kumara put in a top-class performance in tandem when he accounted for the Gents Gross win pushing Kumar Danushan to runner up position. Yannik is also in action at the National Ranking Tournament who is a top contender for this event as well at the VGR which is currently being played.
The senior division was won by T. Akbarally with Gamini Hettiarachchi being runner up. In the Ladies, Linda Harris won while Pauline Morley was runner up.
GM’s Trophy for Gents was won by Noel Joseph while for the Ladies, Anumi Karunathilake stamped her class with a magnificent win.
The Mark Bostock Memorial Trophy, which was first introduced in 2008 and won by Chris Holloway, has become a highly anticipated event in the golf calendar with many top class local and overseas golfers teeing off in the annual Board event.
The annual Board event, which was sponsored by John Keells Holdings, attracted over 90 golfers this year.
